Marleen de Groot

Marleen is an architect at Woonwerk Architecten. Since graduating from TU Delft in 2020, she has worked on a wide range of projects, from transformations to new-build developments, with a strong focus on inner-city social housing. She explores how the story of a place can be told and how buildings and their surroundings can reinforce one another. She is committed to creating meaningful and healthy living environments, particularly for people with limited influence over their living conditions. Her fascination lies in the ‘soft side’ of architecture: spaces that do not seek to impress, but invite you to feel at home. Projects in which living, working and care come together align naturally with this approach. With an eye for material, composition and context, Marleen translates her creativity into designs that resonate over time.
