About Adi Samet
After receiving my bachelor’s degree in architecture at Pratt Institute New-York, I worked as a carpenter in upstate NY making furniture and architectural installations. I then worked as an architect in my hometown Tel-Aviv, Israel for 12 years and in 2021 moved to the Netherlands for my postgraduate studies at The Berlage Center. In Israel I was involved in the design and realization of cultural and educational projects such as The Hebrew House (in collaboration with Petra Blaisse/Inside Outside) and The Jerusalem Arts Campus. I believe architecture is a profession with a social responsibility. I find my inspiration in local context and aesthetics, fundamental human rights and everyday life. I value research that critically contributes to design and prioritizes real solutions. Then, once the architect is gone, a building can serve a real and honest long-term purpose.
