Helmet Sport is a sports hall with changing rooms, storage, etc., and a sports lounge that also acts as a neighborhood meeting venue. The new sports hall will be used by residents and associations of the neighborhood and in particular by the local judo club. At the Helmets street, above the entrance of this complex, 5 modern apartments are realized. The ground floor at the street side is left empty, so the courtyard and the façade of the sports hall are visible from the street and become an extension of the public space.

Patricia Mata Mayrand
I have always been an aesthete, critical and curious person, which led me to the interest of how Architecture impacts on people’s daily lives.
The obsession with simplifying complex processes in order to achieve a recognizable solution that applies naturally across the different scales of a project, has come to define my practice. These solutions weave together efficiency, sustainability, comfort, and identity for the end user.
After completing my university studies, I moved to the Netherlands with a scholarship from Fundación Arquia to work at MVRDV. I later returned to Spain, where I worked as an independent architect and contributed to a project on the coast.
Back in the Netherlands, I worked on large-scale projects at EEA; and with a clearer vision of my professional goals, I decided to join Woonwerk Architecten, where I continue to develop my career.
In addition to my professional work, I participate in volunteer activities that allow me to experience firsthand life in residential care centres that offer rehabilitation services, cognitive stimulation, and medical care.
I am committed to sharing and promoting my experience at both a local and international level.
