The Pointer broadcast—”Oma kan niet weg uit haar grote huis”—drew significant attention two weeks ago when Het Hof van Zutphen, a project by Woonwerk Architecten, was explored through the choice of its residents to live in a clustered housing community.
This senior housing complex, featuring a green inner courtyard, is part of the Noorderhaven urban plan by KCAP. The housing group consists of a close-knit community which greatly influenced the design process through co-creation; both the apartment layouts and positioning of the buildings were shaped through numerous workshops with future the residents.
With an aging population and an increasing care crisis, the demand for affordable collective housing, custom made for specific target groups is more urgent than ever. This has become the core focus of our practice, and we remain committed to addressing this pressing need.
